About the brewery:
The Žatec brewery was founded in 1800 and was quite successful at beer exhibitions at the end of the 19th century. After 1948 it was nationalized and fell successively under several national companies from different regions. After the revolution, it gradually changed hands and it was not until 2001 that an English owner became its owner and began to invest in the brewery. Since 2014 it has been co-owned by Carlsberg. The brewery produces beer under various brands, the most popular of which is currently the Seventh Step. It also produces gluten-free beers under the Celi brand and is recently trialling the Plavčík brand.
