About the brewery:
The brewery in Staré Brno was founded in 1325 and from the beginning operated at the Cistercian convent. Since the mid-19th century, it has used the name Altbrünner Brauerei, which is shortened to Starobrno in Czech. Currently, Starobrno is part of the Dutch brewing company Heineken. In production, it concentrates only on lagers, which it distributes in the Moravian region. It produces Slovak beer Zlatý bažant under license in Brno, imports Heineken, Amstel, Murphy's and Edelweiss beers. The brewery's specialty is Green Beer, which is offered every year on Maundy Thursday at Easter.
