St-Bernardus 13° Tokyo Wit Ale

St-Bernardus 13° Tokyo Wit Ale

Tokyo is an unfiltered beer that has been brewed with a large amount of wheat, and stylistically sits in the middle between a witbier and a saison. The idea originated in 2012 with a one-off batch on the occasion of the opening of the first St. Bernard in the Japanese metropolis. Young Belgian illustrator Jonas Devacht created graphics that depict Japanese nightlife in the iconic Kanda district. More

About the brewery:
The St.Bernard brewery is located in the village of Watou in West Flanders, Belgium, and has been producing beer since 1946. It was originally a cheese-making monastery located a few kilometers from Wattou across the French border, but due to the anti-clerical movement, it was initially 20th century monks moved to Watou. The brewery mainly brews dark monastic ales such as Abt, Prior and Pater, but also offers lighter beers Tripel, Extra and Wit. All their beers are brewed with the help of their own yeast strains, I use the highest quality malts and hops from my own hop farm right next to the brewery. Their Abt 12 has long been at the top of all beer user ratings. So you can also find it in our Rating.
