About the brewery:
In 1980, he brewed his first beer at a brewery he named Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. His first beers were American stouts, whose recipes remain unchanged to this day. At the same time, he began working on Pale Ales. He fell in love with Cascade hops and spent nearly all his money before he managed to perfect the beer. It was definitely worth it, however, as it went on to influence craft breweries and the tastes of beer drinkers around the world. A meteoric rise in the popularity of his beer followed, along with the need to increase capacity. In 1984, he purchased equipment from a closed brewery in Germany, but that wasn’t enough, and three years later he had to build a new brewery on a greenfield site, and another larger one six years after that.
