Põhjala 32° Öö Rudolf Barley Wine BA

Põhjala 32° Öö Rudolf Barley Wine BA

Barley Wine, which matured in Finnish rye whiskey barrels. Dark brown beer of chestnut color with a nice lasting beige head. The beer is quite thick, when swirled it leaves a beautiful lace on the glass. The aroma is quite intense. The front notes of rye bread and rye whiskey are complemented by notes of raisins, nuts and a light caramel undertone. The taste is pleasantly bittersweet. The roasted bitterness of the rye bread crust is balanced by the delicate sweetness of vanilla from oak barrels, a hint of chocolate and the slightly sweet profile of rye whiskey. Notes of nuts and tobacco add depth in the background. The finish is long and full, leaving a pleasant warmth from the alcohol. More

About the brewery:
Põhjala (translated as "North") is currently one of the best craft breweries in the world and its popularity is growing rapidly in Europe. Based in Tallinn, Estonia since 2013, it is made up of a team of beer enthusiasts who brew their beers in a 12 hl brewhouse. Their beers are among the more expensive, but they definitely surprise with their quality and labels. Their head brewer is Chris Pilkington, a former Brewdog brewer who also has his own coffee roaster in Tallinn. He is not afraid of experiments at all and combines his stouts and porters with anything he can think of. Experienced beer sommeliers claim that their porters are the best in the world!
