About the brewery:
The Abbey and brewery Abbay de Leffe was located on the river Meuse in southern Belgium and beer began to be brewed here in 1240. In the 18th century, Leffe beer was so popular and tasty that parishioners preferred to drink beer on Mondays rather than go to church. But then came the Great French Revolution and the abbey was destroyed and was not rebuilt until the early 20th century. In 1952, the Abbot of Nys decided to brew it again according to the original 13th century recipes. Following the acquisition of the brewery by the multinational InBev group, production was moved to the brewery in Leuven, where, among other things, Stela Artois is brewed.
