Fremont Dark Star Oatmeal Stout

Fremont Dark Star Oatmeal Stout

Dark Star is a dark, mysterious yet silky oat stout of spectacular proportions balanced by a firm hop handshake. It was inspired by wandering tribes drifting through dark matter between then and now. It offers mild sweetness and bitterness with mild acidity and umami in a dense body with fine carbonation and structure. The taste has nutty notes with coffee, a touch of blue fruit and chocolate. About the brewery:
Fremont Brewing is a family brewery founded by Matt Lincenum and Sara Nelson in 2009 in Seattle, Washington. Brews small-batch beers from the best local ingredients. The adventure began with a 15 hl brewhouse from Red Lodge Ales, two 30 hl tanks and an annual production capacity of 1000 barrels. He's now brewing at Fremont West Brewery, an 80,000-square-foot facility located just about a mile down the road from the Urban Beer Garden. The brewery is the third largest craft brewery in the state of Washington. Most of the hops come from the Yakima Valley and the water from the Cedar River Basin in the Cascade Mountains. Popular beers include Universale Pale Ale, Interurban IPA and Abominable Winter Ale. The brewery uses LED lighting, gets water from rooftop rain gardens and uses only hybrid vehicles for sales. In addition, the brewery uses a system called HORSE (High Solids Organic Waste Recycling), which uses food waste and regenerates it into renewable energy and fertilizer within 30 days. The blue heron in their logo is the official bird of Seattle.
