About the brewery:
Brouwerij de Molen is a craft brewery from Bodegraven. Its name means Mill, because it started in the premises of the De Arkduif windmill. It was founded in 2004 by the legendary brewer Menno Olivier. He started as a homebrewer and after experience in several small breweries decided to go his own way. From the beginning, De Molen has participated in joint projects with other breweries, such as Mikkeller and De Struise. The brewery was known for its diverse collection of beers with text labels. Currently, 50% of its production is exported to approximately 40 countries. You can find beers from Brouwerij de Molen in Japan, Brazil, Norway, Spain, India, Canada, the United States, Denmark, Poland and even Belgium, among others. They brew Stouts, Porters, Barley Wine, Pale Ale, Sour, Lagers and Saisons. Menno Olivier became a brewing legend because from the beginning he set high standards for quality and tried to create original and progressive beers. In 2021, he even came to present his beers at the Prague bar BadFlash. In 2019, the brewery was taken over by the Royal Swinkels Family Brewers group, which includes the Bavaria, La Trappe, Palm and Rodenbach breweries. In 2024, Menno moved to Spain, where he is now preparing a new project in collaboration with the La Pirata brewery.
