About the brewery:
The Coors brewery was founded in 1873 in the city of Golden, Colorado, and since then has gradually become one of the most famous breweries in the USA. In the first half of the 20th century, it managed to survive the Prohibition period relatively unscathed thanks to the production of malt and porcelain. In 1959, Coors became the first American brewery to use an all-aluminum two-piece beverage can. The brewery also abandoned pasteurization and began using filtration to stabilize the beer. For most of its first 100 years, Coors beer was sold exclusively in the American West. This gave it a mystique on the East Coast, and visitors returning from the West often brought home a case of Coors. It was not until 1986 that Coors finally established nationwide distribution in the United States. In 2004, it merged with Canadian brewing company Molson. The combined company was named Molson Coors Brewing Company and is currently the third largest beer producer in the United States. Their most popular brands include Coors Banquet, Molson, Foster's, Blue Moon, Sol, Keystone, and Miller, as well as Aspall ciders. Molson Coors also owns a number of breweries in Europe. In the Czech Republic, they own the Staropramen and Ostravar breweries.
