About the brewery:
The brewery in Chříč is located in the Křivoklát region in a unique Baroque rural brewery building with a malt house and represents a successful project to restore the monument and return it to its original purpose. The brewery is operated by the Propolis association and functions as a sheltered workshop that employs several people with mental disabilities. Beer brewing was resumed in 2015. The oldest mention of the brewery in Chříč dates back to 1567. It belonged to the local estate and in the 18th century it passed into the hands of the Institute of Nobles at St. Angel in Prague. During the communist era, the building was taken over by the JZD, which stopped beer production in 1949 and used the buildings as warehouses. Today, several styles of beer are brewed in Chříč, and all beers have funny names such as Pazdrát, Hastrman, Nebožtík, or Vinnetou.
