About the brewery:
Basqueland is the largest independent craft brewery in Spain, although that doesn’t mean the brewery is huge. The brewery was founded by Americans Kevin Patricio and Ben Rozzi, who met in San Sebastian and became friends through watching football and lamenting the state of beer in Spain. Ben was a senior brewer at Stone at the time and had previously brewed at Pizza Port. In 2015, they brewed their first three batches of beer under the Basqueland brand. The first batch paid for Ben’s production costs and flight from San Diego, while the second batch was used to recruit investors. They brew authentic craft beer using the best ingredients and techniques from the heart of the Basque Country and for the whole of Europe. Their specials are also recommended for Spanish culinary experiences. Their basic line and limited editions have won dozens of medals and awards for best beers in their class. Last year they produced 7,000 hl, of which 70% remained in Spain and the majority was distributed and consumed in the Basque Country.
