About the brewery:
AleSmith Brewing Company was founded in 1995 in San Diego and specializes in craft beers inspired by European classics. The brewery was founded by enthusiasts Skip Virgilio and Ted Newcomb. Skip became the brewery's brewer. Known in the craft brewing community, AleSmith's beers continue to win American and international awards. In 2025, AleSmith will celebrate 30 years of production by opening a new modern brewery in Miramar at 9990 AleSmith Court. AleSmith uses a brewing system with the ability to bottle more than 100,000 barrels per year. AleSmith beers are inspired by the brewing styles of Great Britain and Belgium. Some AleSmith beers, such as Cream Ale and Robust Porter Beer, are only offered on tap at the brewery.Beers from this brewery were rated #1 Top Brewer in the World in 2006 and again in 2013 by RateBeer.com. In 2008, AleSmith won the "Small Brewery of the Year" award at the Great American Beer Festival.
